Ruby by Bonnie & Camille

I am a fan of Bonnie & Camille fabrics so when they released a new range recently I must admit I rushed out and purchased quite a bit of it. Surprised? I thought not. So, what to do with it now...
I started with a charm pack or two, and thought I would make a new sewing machine mat. But it's a bit cute to be hidden under my sewing machine....so maybe I need a new lounge quilt. Plus I have a few too many charm packs for just a sewing machine mat ;-)

Did I also mention that I am showing you all these photo's of charm squares sewn together as I've been playing with an early Christmas present....called an SLR camera!!! Anybody who has ever read my blog, seen my photo's, knows I cannot take photos. So, I will tell you, I have it set on every auto setting possible. I even have a book, "SLR for idiots". I must read it while laying on the beach at Christmas.....

So, with that said, be prepared for some dodgy, boring, holiday & fabric photo's while I practice my photography skills....

Shopping Spree...oooops!!

I was near our local Spotlight today with my daughter Grace and I said we might head in there for a look. She was just as excited as me to go, which made me pretty happy. Nothing like hearing someone being just as happy to go there as me. (She is doing sewing for the HSC next year & is just in the early stages of her "love" of fabric & sewing)

I might add that we were there the other day & the shelves were quite empty & we left bare handed, so we weren't holding much hope to see much.....

Then....we saw the new Denyse Schmidt fabrics that everyone on all the blogs have been raving about and that out Spotlight store hasn't had. When we were there the other day & the fabrics were not, I thought I had missed out on them already. But no....there they were. Grace said, "I'll go grab a trolley...." I taught that girl well!!

The rest, I add, is history.....I am not responsible for the photo below. It's Spotlights fault, they had 30% off the fabrics, so what was I to do but stock up. I mean there are two of us sewing now. Anyone who knows me knows how I am with fabric.

Now, I need a new cupboard...or maybe a builder, to build a new sewing room......

Fabric Frames

Martha had a blank wall that needed brightening up and she picked up these frames from the store at a reasonable price and thought some gorgeous printed fabrics would look bright and fresh up against the white matt borders and black frames. Such a simple idea with a great effect.
Just waiting for the hubby to hang them, but they look just as good sitting on the side board.

Anna Maria Horner Flannels...

Hi there,
Well we have had a few months break obviously, but here we are with a little parcel that arrived last week. Packaged nicley in lime green tissue paper were a stack of Anna Maria Horner flannels that Martha and I couldn't resist buying a few weeks ago over a cuppa. The dollar wasn't too bad, the credit card had space, the hubbies were no where in sight, and well, it was getting cold outside, so what better way to keep warm, but under some gorgeous flannels??? This is Anna's shop.

Finally blogger let me upload the photo of the unwrapped flannels. They are so yummy, I haven't been able to cut them in half as yet. I have to give half to Martha, but all I can do at the moment is look at them. They look too good folded up neatly, sitting on my sewing cupboard

Maybe I'll cut them tomorrow....

Arrived in the mail!

I just had to post a photo of the gorgeous fabrics I recently received in the mail from Kerry Swain at Cottage On The Hill. (Now if I knew how to create a link to her blog, I would. I will find out how to do that!) Anyway, the fabrics are the Swanky range. I am going to use the pink chenille to put a border around the edge. That project will not be started until I finish some of the ones I have on the go!!

PS I think I did the link thing!! Yay!!

Christmas Pressies

I have also been busy sewing some Christmas pressies for family and friends, so unfortunately I can only give you some little sneak peeks, as I am sure some of the recipients might just get on here occaisonally. I have also been shopping for fabric...surprise, surprise...so here is a little shot of one of my recent purchases.

Road Trip

Martha and I had a spare three hours today so at the last minute decided to go on a little road trip to Weigela Design in Warren to pick up some fabrics to add to our stash. I picked up a few nice fabrics and a pattern for another bag. Check back next week to see the bag completed.

I also picked up these fabrics to make who knows what with! I just couldn't resist them. They are the Jitterbug range, and are quite cute. Might make a lap quilt for my two girls to fight over, they both love the fabrics, but I only bought enough for one quilt!

Now I just found these fabrics in my cupboard, and remembered I bought them from The Home Patch in Bathurst a couple of weeks ago to make a laptop bag. I also bought the pattern for a laptop bag designed by Melly & Me. I must get to that soon too! Too many projects on the to do list! The pattern doesn't require buttons, but they went so well with the fabric, I just had to buy them! I may have to adapt the pattern slightly so I can use the buttons.
